The men’s chamber or the chamber of friends was both an assembly of wisdom and a school for all. There was a word order, there was a pledge of the men of Malesia e Madhe, there were made important decisions , blood feuds and disputes resolved.
Chamber Rules – as a rule, the most important of the house opened the conversation in his own guest house and then the word was given to friends. Only one spoke, everyone else was listening. A classic silence. Even getting the word out was a stunt on its own, it was a master-to-generation perfection. You had to know how to get involved in the conversation and how to get out of it. Everyone thought well before he spoke. Great care was taken that both the newcomers, as well as the home people, did not burden each other. Folklore experts note that there are about 300 “formulas” of opening conversation in such chambers of climbers in northern Albania and in some parts of Kosovo and Montenegro. However, all this great stylistic, morphological and syntactic wealth, but also a precious cultural tradition, is heading for extinction because of its non-application. The reasons are mainly related to emigration, but also to modernizing the lifestyle, including reducing the number of family members.
