Leqet e Hotit are called the mountain road segment of less than 4 kilometers, consisting of 6 360 degree curves, where the slope of the road goes up to 5%. They start at 730 m above sea level and descend to 500 m. Situated in the middle of Shkodra-Vermosh road. In this area you can visit Adriatik Guesthouse has a nice view to the valley and mountains from the terrace. It offers also excellent food.
The Albanian Alps have been the most isolated region in Albania due to extremely rugged mountainous terrain. The western entrance to the Alps is from Leqet e Hotit, located just in the middle of the 97km Shkoder-Vermosh road. Leqet e Hotit represent a series of successive curves that make the 4-kilometer route winding down the slope of the mountain. They descend from 730 m above sea level to 500 m on the riverbed. The curves that make up the Hot Leaks are six and their angle is 360 degrees, while the slope of the road goes up to 5%. The promised road to the time of the Albanian Kingdom (1927-1939) was realized by the so-called voluntary work of Albanian students at the end of the 1960s. However, the contemporary parameters of this route were met only during the last decade. Leqet e Hotit are the first and startling stop on the way to the Lepusha and Vermosh, the northernmost corner of the Republic of Albania. They rise above the valley of the Cem, which is the only river that flows through Albania but does not flow into our territory. It continues its way to Montenegro, the border that looks ahead, to the left of the Leqet e hotit natural balcony. Leqet e Hotit are considered among the most panoramic mountain roads in Albania.
